Why Should I care ?

Without trying to sound too righteous we all have a duty to be the best person or company we can be. And I a business case that means not just trying to have the best products/services and doing your best by your customers, which after all are a given right?
I my opinion no correction this bit is fact all business operations no matter what you do has an impact on the environment/area.
And I am not just talking about pollution. (Noise, waste) which of course is a big issue of course. There are many other impacts business can have on their area.
And it does not matter how you look at the next bit. Duty good will etc
(I look at as we have (Clark trading) have an impact on our area and have a duty of care to counter the negative but I no we go further we aim to leave the world/Hull better than when we got here)
It is important that we (us business ) counter these impacts.
(After all a business that take no steps to counter any negative impact it operations have on the world around it look bad to people and is not good for PR is it?_ NO It can effect people image of the company and in the long run even drive customer of all together if they have other options to get what you do)

As a on-line retailer and delivery company our operations can be heavy on the co2 impact (As our van is a euro 6 it helps reduces this impact ) f
We have 2 pond and numerous plants both to support local wildlife and reduce the Co2 foot print plus it look nice.
We are proud that we support Charity Dove House hospice

A typical day here at Clark trading ?

If you my post on Google + you will have seen why I start on a day at Clark trading type post with the Shabby Chic project, As I said it was easier and I thought everything else would be either boring or hard to type. I have decided to give it a try anyway.
One problem is there is no typical day around here for one thing there is no really standard starting or finishing time it varies each and every day but I suppose it is safe to say that we really finish before 10pm.
As I said there is no typical day really but there are many similar things.
Advertising stock and our delivery services via Facebook,Pinterest and other social media outlets
Buying new stock and collecting it, sorting it, listing it for sale,
Dealing with customer question and the likes

The results of the Shabby chic project

I have the pleasure of sharing with you the results of Lynne’s hard work on the shabby chic project

Our Shabby chic story
So one of use here is busy trying their hand at shabby chic ing a stock item see the results soon Clark trading selling page
The shabby chic project is coming along nicely but the wax stinks but it is starting to look good
So we are now moving on to a second project but the first one is nearly finished not looking bad for a first attempt just waiting for the door to draw and the likes so it can be waxed
I still think the wax stinks as Lynne is a perfectionist she is busy waxing the top right now that is it second waxing
When I told Lynne about this she said am I going to mention the aches and pains I said yes so here it is I mentioned them after all it is quite a bit of work but the result will be worth it I am sure
So the door is back on the glass is getting polished inside and out as I type
Correction the glass door the wooden one is still drying and awaiting it waxing then only a little bit of touching up left on the odd spot on the paint work
The before
During
It has been painted in a neutral white (clotted cream the tin says )

Why business need competition

Competition is good for everyone in business not just the customer
We all know how competition can be good for the customers, it can do things like keep the price down but what a lot of people don't realize is how it can be good for a business a well.
But Why ?
A business with 50% plus of a market is (by UK definition) a monopoly which at first look is good for that business, We all know that for a customer it can be bad it leads to bad service but the customer has little to no choice but to stay but that does not mean they have to like it. The kicker is that business will very often be complacent, and let bad practice sneak in, and that where the danger lies a business in that situation at first glance has no need to practice best practice, and that the problem they will in a business sense be fat and flabby.
But how does comperation help ?
It keeps the business in the right mindset and at top of their game because the customer has choice and can leave if they don't like the service. It can and should drive a company to be the best and that can often include been lean so saving the company money and increasing profit if done right.
But at the least this means a business always has to be looking at how it does things and how to do it better to keep it customers happy.
And that is why we here at Clark trading aim to exceed your expectations each and every time, we know you have a choice in where you spend your money for deliveries or goods, And that is why we value feedback it shows us what we have done right and wrong so we can learn and move forward

What is Logistics ?

We are Clark trading group and among other things we are engaged in logistics but what is logistics ?

Well for one thing all business and people rely on logistics it is the lifeblood of the world but why? Logistics put simply is the management and movement of goods and people from A to B. So take the train or bus that logistics. Without the lorries of the logistics sector or vans for that matter no food or goods in the shop.

Here a short list of some things that are logistics:

  • Warehousing
  • Road haulage (light haulage as well)
  • Rail freight
  • Etc.

But where do we here at Clark trading group fit into the picture ?

We are engaged in road haulage or more precisely the light haulage sector.

And to put it simple road haulage is the transit of goods by road and the light haulage sector is movement of goods up to about 3 tons or so (we have a max gwt of 3.5 tons by the way)

Well as with any industry there can be a lot of terms and the such like

 1 ton = 1000 kg or 2200 pounds

C+E = A class of lorry the largest on UK Roads at up to 44 tonnes (As pictured below) our driver has over 20 years experience from driving these all over the UK and even EU

So there are a few terms for you
